Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict
By Laurie Viera Rigler
Dutton, $25.95, 289 pages
Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict is a cutesy addition to the Jane Austen addict’s collection.
Jane is a young woman living in the era of Jane Austen’s masterpieces (such as Pride & Prejudice) in merry England and one day wakes up as a modern woman named Courtney, in modern day LA.
Jane is confused and completely out of her element, acting as a constant reminder of the long-gone days of Austen, with the consummate charm, reminding Austen fans why we love her masterpieces so dearly.
A cute, albeit unlikely book, Rigler’s freshman effort deserves to be applauded and enjoyed by fellow Austen addicts!
